| Date: July 25th, 2008 Time: 10:00am-1:00pm Where: Meet at 64 Acre Park Located just south of the “Y” in Tahoe City behind the Bridgetender Participants may either: 1) follow a self-guided tour map or 2) join other tour participants in a vanpool. Carpool also available from South Shore: meet at the Tahoe Resource Conservation District Office at 870 Emerald Bay Road at 9am Join us for the 2008 Lake Tahoe Invasive Weeds Field Tour In celebration of California Invasive Weeds Awareness Week, which will be held July 21-27, the Lake Tahoe Basin Weed Coordinating Group invite the public to join them for the 2008 Lake Tahoe Invasive Weeds Field Tour on July 25th. This year the event will be held in and around Tahoe City. Topics to be covered include: Aquatic Invasive Species-Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers! Learn how to identify aquatic invasive species threatening Lake Tahoe and see firsthand how watercraft inspections are conducted. Challenging look-a-likes Find out how to distinguish challenging invasive plant species like Sulfur cinquefoil and Klamathweed. Know Your Thistles Ensure you aren’t removing native thistles from your yard and gain hands-on removal techniques for bull-thistle! |
