This family-friendly event offers a day-long celebration of Indigenous music, dance, food and art. The Indian Arts and Crafts market will open at 9 AM and California Native Dancing will begin at 11 AM. Grand Entry for the inter-tribal Pow Wow portion of the day will begin at 1 pm. The Color Guard will lead in the head staff and a procession of dancers in Native regalia representing different tribal groups from across the nation. Contest dancing, California Big Time dancing and open inter-tribal dancing will be interspersed until the dinner break for dancers at 5 pm. Special performances by Aztec and Native Hawaiian dancers and a Hand Drum Contest will take place during this break. The second grand entry for dancers will begin at 7 pm and closing of the ceremonies at 9 pm. In addition to music and dancing, this event will include a market of Native American arts, crafts and foods. Children’s activities, cultural demonstrations and education booths will be included. This event is free to the public- please bring your own chairs.
